Under the Governments ECO Scheme in 2020, qualifying homeowners could have their old in-efficient boilers replaced completely free of charge, or heavily subsidized via a new boiler grant. If you qualify, we can arrange for a local, approved company to contact you to complete the installation of your new boiler.
The free boiler scheme was launched in January 2013 with an aim to reduce the UK’s energy consumption and provide grants to low-income households in order to help them improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
The scheme is part of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and the Electricity and Gas Order, which was passed in parliament in 2012 and will run until 2022. It is primarily funded by the largest UK utility companies.
ECO is made up of one primary obligation: the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) and funding for the free boiler scheme is part of this.

Boiler Installation
After consultation and examination of your house and heating needs, it is time to choose your new boiler model. There are many things to consider in this decision boiler capacity, preferred type, and fuel are just some of the factors.
Once you have chosen your new boiler model, it is time for the installation. Your heating engineer will fit the boiler in the spot you have designated. This involves connecting to pumps, pipes to your radiators and water outlets, and your cold water mains supply. There might be connections to hot and cold water storage tanks as well.
Depending on the boiler you have selected, the time and extent of the installation will vary. For example, if you are switching from a conventional to a combi type, your engineer will need to remove the water tanks, freeing up your loft space. Additionally, if you are making the step up to a higher capacity boiler to boost your home’s heating, you will need to install more radiators.
Free Boiler Replacement
Free, and heavily subsidised replacement boilers are available via ECO, a Government boiler Scheme which has been set up to help low-income households access home efficiency improvements to reduce the cost of heating their homes, and to reduce their carbon footprints.
The government’s ECO scheme intends to help pensioners upgrade their homes with energy efficient boilers. If you are aged over 60 and receive Pension Credit you may be entitled to a free replacement boiler. Pensioners in receipt of a standard state pension do not qualify for a free boiler grant.
Boiler Grants UK Government
As part of the UK government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO), if you receive a qualifying benefit and your boiler is 10+ years old, you may be entitled to grant funding towards a brand new A-rated boiler. The free boiler grants are funded by UK energy companies and don’t need to be repaid.
