It's believed she was shot about 9am in Caloundra.

About 3.30pm, police arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to the investigation after intercepting the man's car at Sippy Downs.

"The man and woman were known to each other however preliminary investigations suggest this is not a domestic-related incident," police said.

"Both were visiting the Coolum Street address and friends of the homeowner, a woman, who has now spoken to investigators."
