Homicide police are investigating the death of a Queensland woman who was allegedly shot in the head on the Sunshine Coast on Friday morning.
Police said the 25-year-old woman was taken to Caloundra Base Hospital in a critical condition with gunshot wounds to the head.
The woman was taken to hospital by a 58-year-old man known to her, but she died shortly after arriving.

It's believed she was shot about 9am in Caloundra.
About 3.30pm, police arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to the investigation after intercepting the man's car at Sippy Downs.
"The man and woman were known to each other however preliminary investigations suggest this is not a domestic-related incident," police said.
"Both were visiting the Coolum Street address and friends of the homeowner, a woman, who has now spoken to investigators."

It remains unclear why the man and woman were at the property.
Both the 58-year-old and 30-year-old are assisting with enquiries.
A crime scene has been established at the Dicky Beach property, and homicide investigators are involved in the investigation.
