The Border Security Force (BSF) plays a key role in safeguarding India’s borders and is now looking to strengthen its ranks. The organization has issued a recruitment notification for 2025 to fill thousands of tradesman constable posts. This is a great opportunity for candidates who have completed their Class 10 education or possess an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate and are eager to serve the country.
According to the official notification, BSF will recruit 3,588 constable (tradesman) posts. The online application window opened on 26 July 2025 and will remain open until 24 August 2025. Out of the total vacancies, 3,406 positions are for male candidates and 182 for female candidates. Interested applicants should submit their forms well before the deadline to avoid last‑minute issues.
To be eligible for the BSF constable tradesman posts, candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of 24 August 2025. Applicants should have passed the Class 10 (Matriculation) examination from a recognised board. For trades such as carpenter, plumber, painter, electrician, pump operator and upholsterer, candidates also need a two‑year ITI certificate or a one‑year certificate with one year of experience in the trade. For trades like cobbler, tailor, washerman, barber, sweeper and syce (animal attendant), a Class 10 pass is sufficient. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per government rules.
Selected candidates will be appointed in the Pay Matrix Level‑3 with a salary ranging from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month, along with other allowances admissible to central government employees.
The selection process consists of multiple stages. Candidates first undergo a Physical Standard Test (PST) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Those who qualify then take a written examination, which may be computer‑based or OMR‑based. Afterward, there will be document verification, a trade test to assess practical skills, and a medical examination. Applicants should ensure they meet all physical standards and fill out the application form carefully; incomplete or incorrect details can lead to disqualification.
The application process is completely online. Applicants should visit the official BSF recruitment portal and click on the ‘BSF Constable (Tradesman) Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online’ link. During registration, candidates must provide basic details, create login credentials and then fill out the application form. An examination fee of ₹100 plus service charges and GST is applicable for candidates from the Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories. Women applicants and those from SC/ST categories or serving ex‑servicemen of BSF are exempt from paying the fee.
Applicants interested in this opportunity should carefully review the official notification and prepare all required documents ahead of time.
