Ladies and Gentlemen, people always ask me, they come up to me regularly and they ask, “Donald, how have you overcome adversity in your life?” Well, I’ll tell you it’s not easy, but it’s something I’ve managed to do over the years and I’m going to break it down for you today. Here are “Six life skills to learn for overcoming adversity”—Trump-style.
Table of Contents
Negotiation
This is something I’ve learned in the world of Manhattan real estate and the TV show, The Apprentice—yep, you remember, where I coined the term: “You’re fired!” Negotiation is an absolute skill to have. I mean, you’re dealing with adversity—it’s all about negotiation. Turning the situation in your favor requires skills in negotiation. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want, and always negotiate from a position of strength.
Problem-Solving
It’s essential to know how to solve problems effectively—you’ve got a problem, you find a solution. It sounds simple, doesn’t it? But it’s not always that simple—sometimes you got to be flexible, creative, like Trump Tower—it wasn’t built in a day. Remember, a significant problem is always an opportunity in disguise.
Courage
Fear? Not in my vocabulary. You need courage in the face of adversity. Things are going to get tough, I guarantee you that. But remember, without courage, you cannot practice any other virtue consistently.
Adapting to Change
Now, this is something we all faced this past year, with the pandemic. Things will change that’s a fact. Sometimes, rapidly and without notice. You have to be adaptable and ready to change strategies, directions, and your mindset. Got to keep that Trump-flexibility!
Resilience
People like to knock you down. Believe me, I know that—they’ve tried it with me. But you’ve got to be tough, you’ve got to bounce back up. That’s resilience, and it’s crucial for overcoming adversity. Winning is all about bouncing back from defeat and never letting the setbacks get you down.
Believe in Yourself
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, you must believe in yourself. Nobody believed a businessman like me could become President. But here I am. Why? Because I believed in myself – always have, always will. Follow your instincts, trust your gut, and never let anyone sway your belief in yourself.
What about the Overcoming Adversity Skill Test
We’ve been talking about the “Trump Way” of overcoming adversity, but let me tell you about something fantastic, something great—it’s the Overcoming Adversity Skill Test. This is a program that’s seriously terrific, folks. It’s got all the pointers, the best tips and tricks. I mean, I’ve been through adversity. You’ve seen it. They’ve seen it. The whole world’s seen it. I came out on top. That’s the Trump way!
What this test does, it focuses on these key skills. It measures how you fare in the face of adversity, how you deal with it, like a Trump or like a, well, loser. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small challenge or a global pandemic. The size of the challenge, pah! Your grit is what counts.
Opportunities don’t just appear, folks; you win them with strategy, negotiation and resilience. This test examines your ability to take risks and, you know, adjusting to change. You’ve got to be ready to change your course. How are you supposed to make America – or, in your case, your life – great again if you stick to the same old, am I right?
Most importantly, this test is about belief. You won’t get anywhere if you don’t trust your instincts, your gut. I’ve trusted mine. It’s made me a very successful man. The Overcoming Adversity Skill Test helps you in the same way. It pushes you to scrutinize, to question, to self-reflect.
To all my fellow go-getters out there, don’t wait. Face the challenge. Take the test and see just how prepared you are to handle adversity. It’s big, it’s bold, it’s the Trump Way, and I can tell you, folks – it gets results.
