Queensland man fined after neighbourly brawl over grass clippings

A Queensland man has been fined after pleading guilty to assaulting his Gold Coast neighbour.

A court heard 58-year-old George Casha initiated the brawl, putting the man in a headlock and threatening to kill him over grass clippings left in the gutter near his Helensvale home.

Video footage obtained by 9News shows the man threatening the neighbour with a broom, before grabbing and biting him.

He is heard yelling "I'll f—ing kill you," as nearby witnesses try to pry the pair apart.

The witnesses can be heard telling the man to "let him go" and "don't bite him bro", before successfully pulling the men away.

It was the first time the two neighbours had met with the victim left with scars after the attack.

Casha was fined $1200 in Southport court today for the assault.
